Plaintiff was born at Kaiser Foundation Hospital in January of 1987. Newborn screening test for thyroid disorders reportedly normal. Child developed hypothyroidism in infancy, manifested by abnormal growth and development. Signs of hypothyroidism not appreciated by Kaiser nurse practitioner, and subsequent non-Kaiser treating doctors. Hypothyroidism not diagnosed until 2½ years of age. Plaintiff left Kaiser at approximately 1 year of age.
